Tractor History | Sukanen pioneer village and museum

As part of the Sukanen Ship Museum expansion, Bill Young of Young's Equipment assembled an extensive collection of Allis-Chalmers and Case IH tractors, now housed in two large-scale display buildings on site.

I collaborated on the development of the interpretive signage for this collection, commissioned by local sign fabricators, Design Signs, to ensure the information was both historically accurate and clearly communicated within the physical environment.

This included designing large-format panels for a high-traffic public setting, balancing readability, hierarchy, and durability while respecting the legacy of the machinery and its place in Saskatchewan’s agricultural history.

Young's Equipment was founded on November 1st, 1988, with the Founding Partners: Lloyd Young, Tim Young, Bill Young, and Ron Young.

The Young family has a long-standing presence in Saskatchewan’s agricultural industry, with generations of experience in equipment sales and dealership operations. Over time, this evolved into Young’s Equipment, a family-run business built on resilience, practical knowledge, and strong relationships within the farming community.
